Hi, I’m Meg Elizabeth.
I write at the intersection of grace theology and real, unraveling life.
I'm a first-time novelist, a Doctor of Ministry candidate, and the founder of The Behold Collective, a ministry focused on women in leadership. I live in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with my family, and I believe that the most important things happen in the narrow aisle between the theology shelf and the psychology shelf — which is, not coincidentally, exactly where my protagonist Emmy Montgomery spends a lot of her time.
The Long Version
My debut novel, Sewn in Grace: Emmy's Story, began the way most honest stories do — from a question I couldn't stop living inside.
I've spent years studying grace as a theological concept. I've taught it, preached it, and built curriculum around it. And I've also been the woman who knows the doctrine by heart and cannot seem to apply it to herself at the end of a long day, when the threads are fraying and the kids are hard and the marriage needs more than she has left.
Emmy's story is not my story. But she lives in a world I recognize.
Why I Wrote
I wrote this book for the woman who has given grace to everyone in her life and is slowly discovering she is not exempt from receiving it.
Why Theology?
My doctoral research explores how grace functions as the central paradigm for Christian discipleship — not as a theological footnote, but as the foundation of how we heal, relate, and form one another. That research lives in the novel too, woven into Emmy's dissertation, her adoption journey, her marriage, and her relationships with the three women who became her sisters when she married into their family.
Beyond the NovelIn addition to writing fiction, I lead The Behold Collective, where my work focuses on:
• Women in ministry leadership — equipping, encouraging, and walking alongside
• A multi-year discipleship curriculum rooted in grace theology
• An annual women's retreat (details at THE BECOME RETREAT)
• Doctoral research on leadership, spiritual formation, and church planting
A Few True Things
I designed the cover of Sewn in Grace myself.
I believe a good cup of tea fixes more than people admit.
I think sisters — blood and chosen both — are one of God's most underrated gifts.
I'm finishing a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2027, which means I write novels and dissertations simultaneously, which is exactly as chaotic as it sounds.
My writing has been compared to Jan Karon, Susan May Warren, Rosamund Pilcher, and Lori Wick — which is the kind of thing that makes you want to sit down and cry in the best possible way.
